Microsoft’s New Commerce Experience

What is it?

Since March 10, 2022, the New Commerce Experience Cloud Solution Provider program (NCE-CSP) has been the program to add new Microsoft Cloud customers.

What are the benefits for you as a Microsoft Partner?

Microsoft delivers a simplified engagement experience for partners and customers with the NCE, plus the new Microsoft Commerce Incentive (MCI) program. Customers add accelerator for CSP partners in FY22 with rewards for additional growth for up to 12 months following initial customer acquisition, with no max cap.

What do you need to know?

When you are thinking about the NCE within the Microsoft CSP, remember that NCE brings no change in Microsoft products or in Microsoft product licensing principles. The change NCE brings is related to the Product terms.

The key changes in Product terms:

No ability to decrease seat numbers before the subscription term ends

Price increase for shorter subscription terms: 1 month (at 20% price premium)

What do you need to do?

1. Learn details of the NCE, assess your organization’s readiness, identify and prioritize gaps, and build a plan to close these.

2. Plan to migrate any existing customers still on legacy CSP to NCE.
Microsoft continues to support legacy-CSP subscription auto-renewal functionality for customers on legacy-CSP, though Microsoft channel incentives for the legacy-CSP expires December 2022 (details here).
