Updates on Microsoft Bridge to the Cloud 2 Promo
Friday, May 26, 2023
Reading time: 2 minutes
With the Bridge to the Cloud 2 promo, Dynamics 365 on-premises commercial customers can receive a 40% discount during a 3-year term when migrating to most Dynamics 365 online products licensed through the new commerce experience (NCE) subscription.
This article overviews the promo updates that were announced in April 2023.
Business Central customers can request additional free users at any time during the promo
Customers who use this promo to move to Dynamics 365 Business Central have the ability to request additional free users. To be eligible to request extra free users, the customer will need to reach or exceed twice the monthly CSP cost that is required to be eligible for the promo.
Previously, these additional users could only be requested at the start of the promo, meaning that the customer would have to pay more at the start of the promo, even if they did not yet need all the users. Companial provided feedback to Microsoft which resulted in Microsoft changing this policy.
This means that customers can request additional free users at any time during the promo, when they reach the required amount to be eligible for these free users. This could save customers a substantial amount in cost.
To see when the customer is eligible for these free users, please use our Companial calculation sheet for Business Central.
From any on-premises ERP to any online Dynamics 365 ERP
This promotion applies to customers migrating from most Dynamics on-premises perpetual products purchased through DPL to functionally similar Dynamics 365 online per-user offers for commercial customers (e.g., no EDU or GOV specific offers) with a 3-year term on NCE.
Recently the Bridge to the Cloud 2 promo has been expanded, meaning that customers can move from any on-prem ERP to any online Dynamics 365 ERP and from any on-prem CRM to any online Dynamics 365 CRM. For example, NAV/BC customers previously could only move to Dynamics 365 Business Central, but now they can choose to move to Dynamics 365 Business Central, Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain Management or Operations. Please see the Microsoft policy for the list of eligible “from” and “to” products.
Cap on 1 year backpay for lapsed AX customers
Customers who are lapsed can enroll in this promo. For customers lapsed less than 30 days, there is a grace period and no lapsed fee involved. For customers lapsed for more than 30 days, there is a lapsed fee with a maximum of 3 years backpay.
The important update concerns AX customers, for whom a maximum of 1 year backpay applies.
Please use the order card for Dynamics365 Finance and SCM on the Companial Partner Portal for easy promo calculation.
