Essential information for maximizing your engagement with Microsoft
The Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program (MAICPP) is Microsoft’s unified global partner ecosystem that provides organizations with the relationships, insights, tools, training, resources, and incentives they need to build, sell, and deliver successful cloud, and AI powered solutions.
On this page, we provide a brief overview of the program and explain how we simplify, explain, and guide Companial Partners through the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program.
If you are a Companial Partner, your PSM can help you develop a plan to get the most out of this program.

At its core, MAICPP enables companies to fully enter and benefit from the Microsoft ecosystem by becoming Microsoft partners equipped to serve customers with Microsoft solutions. It provides partners with access to exclusive training, technical enablement, marketing resources, and expert advisory services – empowering them to maximize platform capabilities, deliver higher value customer outcomes, and stay competitive in an evolving digital marketplace. The program is structured to recognize and reward partners who demonstrate deep expertise and proven success in high-impact solution areas, such as Business Applications, Data & AI, Digital & App Innovation, Infrastructure, Modern Work, and Security.
Whether you are a new entrant or an established leader in the Microsoft ecosystem, the AI Cloud Partner Program offers a clear pathway to build capabilities, showcase your expertise, and unlock new opportunities for growth. By aligning your organization with Microsoft’s strategic priorities, especially in areas like AI, Copilot, and industry-specific solutions, you position your business to thrive in a rapidly changing technology landscape.
What are the core elements of MAICPP?
- Entry into the Microsoft Ecosystem (Membership)
At the base is program membership that unlocks access to for specialized programs – such as the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program – that allow them to resell Microsoft solutions and deliver value-added services to customers.
- Benefits packages
MCAIPP unlocks benefits packages (product entitlements, support, advisory, GTM services) designed to help partners build an AI/cloud practice and progress through the framework.
- Solution Partner Designations (the capability “backbone”)
Partners differentiate through six Solution Partner designations aligned to Microsoft Cloud solution areas (Business Applications; Data & AI (Azure); Digital & App Innovation (Azure); Infrastructure (Azure); Modern Work; Security). Earning a designation requires meeting the Partner Capability Score (PCS) threshold across Performance, Skilling, and Customer Success.
- Advanced specializations (deeper proof of expertise)
Above designations, Microsoft offers advanced specializations; rigorous validations (often with audits/attestations) in high‑demand areas such as AI & Machine Learning on Azure, Build & Modernize AI Apps with Azure, Low‑Code Application Development, SMB Management (Business Apps), and more. These specializations improve marketplace differentiation and often unlock additional incentives.
Partners who attain all six Solutions Partner designations receive a Solutions partner for Microsoft Cloud badge, recognizing capabilities across the Microsoft Cloud.
- Incentives & investments (commercial levers)
Eligibility for commercial partner incentives (sell‑through payouts, solution‑area incentives, Azure outcome/usage‑based programs, etc.) is governed by the MAICPP Agreement and each year’s Microsoft Commercial Partner Incentives Guide. Internal summaries emphasize that specialization/designation can increase earnings (e.g., higher enhancement margins for certain Business Applications scenarios).
- Go-to-Market, Co-Sell & Marketplace
MAICPP includes structured GTM resources, co‑selling motions with Microsoft, and marketplace visibility. Microsoft comms and onboarding kits call out standard motions: co‑branded content, solution play assets, partner hubs, and best practices to publish offers and engage in co‑sell.
- Skilling & enablement (training paths, toolkits, hubs)
Partners gain access to role‑based learning, partner training centers, and recurring Partner Pulse/CSP Insider enablement streams that package assets for Copilot, agents, and solution plays. These resources reinforce PCS skilling and practice building for AI‑led offerings.
- Partner Center operations & compliance (how you run it)
Day‑to‑day program management happens in Partner Center (membership, benefits, PCS tracking, incentives eligibility). Formal underpinnings include the Microsoft Partner Agreement (MPA); many incentive and CSP motions also require CSP authorization and correct enrollment. Internal slides and Microsoft Learn pages point to Partner Center as the operational system of record.
- Program options by partner type (services, ISV, MSP)
MAICPP is partner‑type agnostic, with tailored tracks and adjacent programs (e.g., ISV Success, Azure Expert MSP, Training Services Partner Program). This ensures ISVs, services partners, and MSPs can each develop and package AI solutions responsibly and profitably.
What are the benefits for you as a Microsoft Solution Partner for Business Applications?
Partners delivering Microsoft Business Applications solutions – Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, both AI‑ready by design – who achieve Solution Designation benefit from MAICPP across multiple key areas that strengthen their capabilities, competitiveness, and customer value (collectively referred to as Dynamics partners):
- Product, support & advisory benefits (partner benefits packages)
Dynamics partners get access to discounted Microsoft product licenses, Azure credits, technical advisory, and support to strengthen their cloud and AI practices.
- Brand recognition and strengthening market position
MAICPP recognizes Dynamics partners who demonstrate measurable excellence through Solution Partner for Business Applications designation and Advanced specializations. These give partners greater marketplace visibility, higher credibility with customers, and priority access to incentives and Microsoft sellers.
- Incentives & revenue aligned earnings
MAICPP enables Dynamics partners to unlock CSP incentives, enhanced margins, and accelerator programs. This directly boosts profitability, especially for partners focused on D365 adoption, cloud migrations, and recurring CSP revenue.
- Marketing & Go-to-Market (GTM) benefits
Partners can access co‑branded assets, launch kits, marketplace listings, Microsoft seller co‑sell motions, digital demand‑gen resources.
- Skilling, training & technical enablement
MAICPP helps Dynamics partners stay ahead of evolving AI capabilities (Copilot, AI agents, industry‑specific innovation) by providing AI & Copilot readiness, Business Applications solution play enablement, and Workshops, bootcamps & structured curricula.
