Updates to the Business Central Migration Voucher Program

Microsoft has announced several enhancements to the Business Central Migration Voucher Program, expanding eligibility, increasing flexibility, and making the funding more accessible for partners. These changes help partners position Business Central migrations more competitively, especially for deals already in late stages.

Threshold lowered: $50K → $25K annual license value

The eligibility threshold for claiming a Business Central Migration Voucher has been reduced to $25,000 in annual license value.
This significantly expands the number of eligible opportunities, particularly benefiting SMB-focused partners delivering smaller or staged migrations.

Funding introduced for compete (non-Dynamics) migrations

Microsoft now supports compete upgrades from non Dynamics ERP systems.
Key points:

  • Partners can apply for incentives when moving a customer from a competing ERP into Business Central.
  • Funding requires Microsoft’s review and approval.
  • Funding calculation follows the standard voucher model: up to one year of license value, capped at $150,000.
  • This makes Business Central more financially attractive in competitive scenarios.

Concierge Program now available in pre sales stage

The Microsoft Concierge Program, historically used after purchase for post sales technical validation, can now be leveraged during the sales cycle.
This allows partners to:

  • Validate technical approaches before closing the deal
  • Present Microsoft backed assurance to customers
  • Increase confidence for complex migrations or high value transformations

This shift enables partners to de risk proposals early and accelerate opportunity closure.

Companial support for migration incentives

Partners who do not meet Microsoft’s eligibility criteria to claim migration incentives on their own can still take full advantage of the Business Central Migration Voucher Program by working with Companial. In this setup, Companial can support the customer upgrade, submit the voucher claim on the partner’s behalf, and ensure the partner continues to benefit from available migration funding. This approach helps remove eligibility barriers while allowing partners to retain ownership of the customer relationship and the overall migration opportunity.
