Delivering Irish compliance with Localization for Ireland

In the previous articles, we explored why the Irish Business Central localisation landscape is changing, how Microsoft’s Validated Localization programme supports a W1-based localisation strategy, and what functionality Localization for Ireland provides today. The remaining question is practical: what should Partners do next?

For many Partners, Irish localisation has historically been addressed through a combination of existing functionality, project-specific extensions, and local knowledge. As Ireland continues to operate as a W1 + localisation market, there is an opportunity to move towards a more standardised and maintainable approach. Localization for Ireland has been built to support that journey, and the onboarding, evaluation, support, and feedback paths are now in place.

The focus now is how you, the Partner, can begin evaluating, planning, and onboarding with confidence.

From awareness to onboarding

Throughout this series, we have encouraged Partners to take a measured and practical view of Irish localisation. The objective has never been to create urgency for its own sake. The objective has been to help Partners prepare for future Irish Business Central projects using a localisation approach that aligns with Microsoft’s broader W1 direction.

Localization for Ireland is now at a stage where Partners can move beyond awareness and begin structured onboarding activities. The application is available, onboarding guidance has been prepared, testing enablement is available, support channels are established, and Partners can begin evaluating how the solution fits within their Irish Business Central strategy.

Start with your Irish Customer portfolio

The most effective starting point is not Customer installation – it is understanding where Irish localisation requirements exist within your business today. For some Partners, that may mean reviewing existing Irish Business Central Customers. For others, it may mean evaluating upcoming opportunities, new Customer implementations, or projects that are currently relying on customer-specific localisation solutions. The goal is to identify where a more standardised localisation foundation could help reduce maintenance effort, improve consistency, and support long-term upgradeability.

This portfolio review also creates a stronger basis for Customer conversations. Instead of discussing localisation in abstract terms, Partners can assess real requirements, identify affected Customers, and prioritise evaluation activities where they are likely to deliver the greatest value.

Use the onboarding materials to evaluate with confidence

Partners do not need to build an evaluation framework from scratch. Localization for Ireland is supported by a complete onboarding package that includes implementation guidance, functional documentation, structured testing scenarios, a rapid start package, support channels, and established commercial and access routes. Together, these resources provide a practical path from initial interest to hands-on evaluation.

Rather than spending time assembling test data, designing validation scenarios, or interpreting functionality without guidance, Partners can use the available resources to accelerate internal evaluation and prepare delivery teams more efficiently. Just as importantly, the availability of these materials demonstrates that Localization for Ireland is not being positioned as a future concept or an experimental initiative. The foundations needed for Partner onboarding have already been established.

Validate real scenarios before Customer rollout

Successful adoption starts with practical validation. Before positioning Localization for Ireland to Customers, Partners should take the opportunity to review how the solution behaves in realistic Business Central scenarios. This includes validating setup processes, reviewing VAT3 workflows, testing reporting outputs, evaluating exception handling, and understanding how the application fits alongside existing Customer requirements.
The objective is not to prove that every Customer scenario is identical. Every implementation remains unique.

The objective is to establish a solid understanding of the current solution scope and determine how it aligns with the requirements Partners see most frequently in their Irish Customer base. This approach benefits more than delivery teams alone. Presales consultants, solution architects, support teams, and Customer-facing consultants all gain confidence when they can discuss localisation based on practical experience rather than documentation alone.

Prepare the commercial and access path early

One of the most common challenges in project planning is waiting until the last moment to address access, licensing, and commercial considerations. Localization for Ireland is available to Companial Partners through established commercial and access routes. Partners can obtain internal, demonstration, and evaluation access through their local PSM and should consider doing so early in the evaluation process.

Engaging your PSM at the outset helps avoid unnecessary delays later. Whether the scenario involves a new Customer opportunity, an existing subscription, a proof of concept, or internal enablement activities, early planning creates a smoother path towards adoption. The result is simple: when Customer conversations begin, the practical foundations are already in place.

Plan for support, extensibility, and future needs

Adoption is not only about implementation. It is also about confidence in the future. Partners need to know that support is available, that future updates can be managed, and that evolving Customer requirements have a route for discussion. Localization for Ireland has been designed with that longer-term perspective in mind.

Support is available through Companial’s Partner Portal, covering licensing, functional, and technical topics. Where Customer requirements identify opportunities for new extensibility points or additional localisation functionality, Partners also have established channels to raise those needs for consideration.

This is an important part of building a healthy localisation ecosystem. Article 3 described the functionality available today, but Irish localisation requirements will continue to evolve. Feedback from Partners working directly with Customers will play an important role in helping shape future priorities and expansion opportunities.

Build your Ireland readiness plan

At this stage, the next steps can be distilled into a simple readiness plan:

  1. Review your Irish Customer portfolio and upcoming opportunities.
  2. Request evaluation access through your local PSM.
  3. Use the available onboarding and testing resources to validate real-world scenarios.
  4. Compare current Customer requirements against the Localization for Ireland scope.
  5. Prepare Customer-facing discussions based on practical evaluation results.
  6. Confirm commercial readiness and deployment planning.
  7. Share enhancement ideas, future requirements, and implementation feedback.

Partners who follow this approach will be in a stronger position to advise Customers, support future upgrades, and pursue Irish opportunities with greater confidence.

Ready to begin?

Localization for Ireland is no longer a future roadmap discussion. The application is available, onboarding resources are prepared, testing enablement is in place, support channels are established, and Partners can begin structured evaluation today.

If Ireland forms part of your existing Customer portfolio or future Business Central growth plans, now is the right time to start building your readiness plan. Review your Irish opportunities, request evaluation access through your local PSM, validate the solution against real-world scenarios, and begin preparing for future Customer conversations.

To support that journey, we will also be hosting a dedicated Partner webinar on September 9th, where Partners can explore the solution in more detail, discuss evaluation findings, ask questions, and help shape the next stage of Localization for Ireland’s development. The webinar is intended as a continuation of your evaluation journey – not the starting point. We encourage Partners to begin exploring the solution now so that they can bring practical questions, observations, and feedback to the discussion.

Contact your local PSM, request evaluation access, and begin building your Ireland readiness plan today.
